Stayed up pretty late last night but not a problem today. Tired now. E. ended up staying at Flanigan's a while longer, and I told him to go home and call me from there. I sat here waiting... Then he tried calling a couple of times and the calls didn't go through. Then I tried calling back, couldn't get through, and left several messages (till the voice mail was full) before I realized the phone probably needed charging. Sure enough, that was the case. E. eventually called me (from home). By then it was pretty late. I'd been worried, but he was OK, lounging on the air mattress beneath the gushing A/C.
It was a hellacious day for him. On top of moving, there was also one last altercation with the BF. The BF couldn't locate his passport, and he's supposed to be going to Mexico in a week or so (with a trick?). The BF accused E. of making it disappear to sabotage his trip. E. got upset and told him he'd never do anything like that. To make a long story short, the BF found his f***ing passport.
Tonight after work, I took the boom box over to E. at work. I'd tested the CD player and it was still working, so I threw in a Lady Gaga CD. (He told me the TV he's using gets one channel without cable.) Meanwhile, today he got his king-size bed and washed the sheets, so he can sleep on that tonight. (Everything fits, albeit tightly E. said, in the bedroom.) (The dresser is a big long thing, and there's also a matching nightstand.) And today I heard back from AT&T about E.'s DSL. It won't be activated till the 31st (there must be a backlog or something). They'll be there between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., but E. doesn't have to be home.
Today I got a call from a property appraiser working for Citibank (where I'm applying for the refinance). He'll be here tomorrow between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. to appraise the place. Should take 15 minutes, he said.
Time to chill.
