Thursday night personal

Nice guys - two brothers - on the new "Millionaire Matchmaker" tonight. Good show. Abe's [top pic] date "shot him down" (her words) because he wanted the two of them to relax in his hot tub at the end of the date. She declined. He just wanted to get her into a bathing suit so he could get a better look at "the goods." (He even admitted it, though not to her, of course.) (This wasn't the first time a guy has been shot down for doing that on this show.)

Abe's brother, Dave, [bottom pic] had a great date, however, and now the two of them are "in love."

Abe had been in prison for three years for transporting cocaine across state lines. (He did it for his girlfriend at the time.) Lesson learned. In prison, he got the idea of creating a line of clothing and started designing (on napkins with crayons). Now he and his brother are in the business together, making millions.
They're both now "followers of Jesus" (I think that's the phrase one of them used). But I had no sense they're the hating kind, with a mean agenda. They were actually pretty cool (more like Jesus, actually).

* * *
Today, with Eric's permission, I opened an AT&T account on his behalf in order the get the ball rolling on getting his DSL so he can go online on his new computer in his new place. It requires a modem, which AT&T ships by UPS. (Maybe he'll get it by Monday - moving day - but I doubt it.)

He had a choice between a wired ($75) or wireless ($100) modem, and he liked the idea of the wireless. (Something they didn't offer when I got my modem here.) So I ordered the wireless one and then took him a check for $107 (including tax) after I got home - dropped it off at his place of business while on my way to the store. He seemed to be very excited, and shook my hand.

[Later] Just musing. Here's this about Benjamin Franklin:
