TGIF!!!

Duffy's Sports Grill, on the Intracoastal
Back at the gym tonight after a pleasant nap with Lucas. Being able to nap with me is important to him - he gets a lot of attention before I eventually fall asleep (and he also pets me with his tail).

After the gym, I watched a new "Four Weddings" and the "Paranormal Witness" episode about the UFO , which I'd not watched the other night in favor of "Rat Busters NYC" (which Lucas also enjoyed). It turned out to be very-good-to-excellent. The first half was about the UFO, the second about a malevolent spirit accidentally summoned up through a Ouija Board. Definitely one of the better paranormal shows, kind of like "The Haunted" on Animal Planet, but without the freaked-out animals.

Accounts are narrated by the people who witnessed the events, with scenes dramatically recreated. The UFO segment was principally narrated by a police dispatcher who was taking 911 calls of eyewitnesses to the UFO, and actual recordings of the calls were used in the piece (with actors lip-synching the dialogue). Very good touch. This stuff is not made up. (And I'm the biggest skeptic in the world.)

Called E. early in the afternoon. He'd stayed out till 3:00, celebrating his birthday at Duffy's. He particularly enjoyed the waterfront setting. Then he called me at around 5:00 to say "TGIF." He's not heard back from the Renter's Paradise agent, not that he necessarily expected to. The deal was he would have to wait two weeks to move into the apartment, and E. just met with the agent on Monday.

By the way, E. wanted to come over on Monday, and I let him. (He called after I was home from work and cooking the marinated pork chops that broke my tooth.) Here's an account:
Eric was just here for an hour and a half or so.  He called and said he wanted to come over, so I said OK.  (I had planned on going to the store but that can wait till tomorrow.)  He hasn't been here since he left the place years ago.  He wanted to see his cat and was very emotional and said he was sorry for the way things turned out, and that he was always happy here.  He walked all around the place and said he felt like he was "back home."  He wanted a lot of hugs.  I just said, "Let's see what happens" - best at this time to get situated in his own place and have some peace of mind.

He spent a lot of time with [Boozy].  He had a bite to eat [some pork chop, which he raved about], two drinks, and drove back home (he hadn't been to Flanigan's first).  He called me when he got back home (twice).  He was really tired - could hardly sleep last night . . . .  He's started smoking again since he's been going through the breakup, so we had a couple of cigarettes out on the terrace.  He enjoyed sitting out there.
