Thursday afternoon personal

I think I'll head up to Aventura Mall tomorrow on the express bus, which runs only on weekdays. (The regular bus goes there the long way, i.e., via The Mall at 163rd Street.) I haven't been to the mall in ages and have a Christmas gift card to use. Maybe I'll catch a movie. "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" looks good. According to the Wikipedia article, the visual effects - vis-à-vis the apes - have been created digitally, vs. having the actors wear makeup. Sounds like an improvement over the past movies; the ape makeup never quite worked, with the apes barely moving their lips as they spoke. [Click twice on photo to enlarge it.]

A little too windy to use the cat door today - air was pushing it open and flooding through. So that's locked for the time being; Lucas is taking a nap on the bed.

It rained earlier and looks like we're in for more.
