Saturday night personal

Tonight I used my new food processor to make a salmon loaf (it's still baking). I used it as I would use my old food processor. Big mistake. I guess I should have read the directions: All liquids go into the bowl through the feed tube while the processor is running. (I used to pour all the liquids into the bowl before processing.) Tonight, after I'd added water and milk to the bowl (not through the tube while the machine was running), I looked down a minute later and was horrified to see that most of the liquid had run out all over the kitchen counter. (I should have snapped a photo of it.) Then I scrambled to read the directions.

After mopping up the counter, I followed the directions and guessed at the amount of liquid I should add back in through the tube. This may not come out right. It's usually done in an hour, but not this time. Let's see how it goes after another half hour.

[Later] Still not done. Lowered the heat a bit and will give it another half hour.

[Later] Came out great. Nice brown crust. At last I'm savoring a long-awaited snack. [Click on the photo to enlarge it.]
