New cat door is here

It'll work, but not on a day like today, with wind blowing 13 mph from the SSW, i.e., against the sliding-glass door. The magnets that are supposed to hold the cat door in place aren't strong enough to keep the wind from gushing through the opening - about as bad as keeping the slider cracked open.

As you can see, there are some gaps in the seal. I covered the entire length of the seal with clear tape. But it's so hot today - and with the wind blowing up against the door - I decided to close the slider for now. I just pushed the insert back behind the door before I closed it (so no need to take down the insert and find someplace to store it). We can use the insert another day.

Lucas did use the cat door before I locked it shut. He figured it out pretty fast.

I got up just after noon, and the boxed-up insert was standing outside my front door. I'd authorized the delivery people to leave it there if I wasn't "available."
