Back from work. Watching "The NBC Nightly News." Lead story is about the effects of the S&P downgrade and economic turmoil in Europe. We'll see what the stock market does tomorrow. (Stock markets in the Middle East did poorly.) See here ("Israeli Stock Market Plunges in Response to US Debt Crisis").
The debt crisis in the United States, including the downgrading of the U.S. debt rating by a major agency, had a negative impact on the first day of the trading week in the Middle East. Stock markets in Dubai and Egypt dropped about four percent, and the effects were even worse in Israel.Headed downtown on the bus and stopped off at Checkers along the way for comfort food (chili dogs, chicken tenders with Buffalo sauce, and a fish sandwich, which I found inedible and most of which ended up in the garbage). (The chili dogs were the best - I have some left for tomorrow.)
