We knew they were changing the locks to the building, but hadn't been forewarned that it would be happening today. I take the bus to work and was unable to let myself into the lobby when I got home and had to walk around to the main entrance, where the security guard sits, to be let in. No big deal, but I bet a lot of people were steaming mad when they drove up into the parking garage after work and weren't able to get into the building. (They would have had to walk back down the ramps, let themselves out of the (gated) garage with their clickers, and go to the main entrance to be let in.)
There was a sign by the entrance, telling us to go to the office to get our new keys. (Office closes at 5:00, long before I get home from work.) I'll go get my key in the morning.
I'm not at all impressed with the management here, but it's a helluva lot better than the crooks that ran the place before.
Tonight I roasted a chicken (for lunches) and made a delicious pan gravy with the drippings and a concentrated broth I made from the giblets, with celery, onion, and some seasonings. Tonight I'd planned on driving to the GNC for some items and the grocery store (next to GNC) for some chicken gravy mix, but I wouldn't have been able to let myself back inside the building from the parking garage. No big deal making the gravy from scratch, and it turned out so much better.
Stayed up later than usual last night to watch the re-run of the new "Design Star" episode that had aired while I was watching the new Anthony Boudain episode (about Ferran AdriĆ and the closing of his restaurant El Bulli). I normally doze off on the bus after work, but tonight I woke up just as the bus was approaching my stop. (Thank G*d.) (A few weeks ago I woke up way after my stop, and it took me an extra hour to get back home.)
